Davidson Legal Staffing's proprietary legal testing is included in our client services. Testing may also be purchased by employers who prefer to fill positions on their own, but want superior candidate testing capabilities. Pricing is on a per candidate basis.
Litigation Evaluation
Evaluates candidate’s knowledge of general litigation procedures (state court), and also includes a section testing candidate’s knowledge of proper citations of legal authorities, and proper categorization of legal authorities. Most questions require candidate to fill in the blanks; some questions are multiple choice. There are a total of 26 questions.
Litigation Calendaring
Evaluates candidate’s knowledge of litigation filing and service due dates. Candidate is provided with a calendar of three months. There are six questions requiring candidate to identify the proper filing and/or service date of specific documents by using the calendars. Some of the due dates fall on a weekend or holiday requiring candidate to re-calculate the proper date. The remaining questions require candidate to provide the number of days a certain document must be filed and/or served. Candidate must also indicate if the days are “calendar” or “court” days. There are a total of 12 questions.
Legal Spelling and Grammar
Evaluates candidate’s legal spelling and grammar skills. There are a total of 18 spelling questions and 14 grammar questions. Both tests are multiple choice.
Proofreading
Candidate must proofread a letter and correct all errors. This is an intricate test that evaluates candidate’s spelling, grammar and proofreading skills. There are 20 errors within the address section, subject line, salutation, body, and closing of the letter that the candidate must identify and correct.
Litigation Pleading Test
Evaluates litigation candidate's MS Word skills. Candidate must edit and revise an actual pleading using the following advanced features:
A summary of how the candidate performs each function will be prepared by a qualified staff member and provided to the potential employer.
