Large and growing law firm has an exciting opportunity for a skilled Desktop Engineer with law firm experience to join their Downtown Los Angeles office. DESCRIPTION:

  • This position will be the primary support of 100+ users; will report directly to a manager in Los Angeles and work closely with a team throughout the country
  • Provides direct user support by responding to inquiries, troubleshooting and resolving problems for all firm-supported software and hardware and ensures that all phases of support are properly coordinated, monitored, logged, tracked and resolved
  • Continually maintains and expands strong working knowledge of current firm-supported and future technologies to provide technically accurate solutions to users
  • Researches, evaluates and provides input on software products as requested and participates in departmental project teams and task forces designed to streamline workflow and/or resolve issues; assists with various firm and/or departmental projects and initiatives as assigned
  • Will have the opportunity to work on special IT projects and become a subject matter expert in various technologies

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of related desktop support experience in a professional services organization; preferably law firm
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve first and second level desktop, laptop, and PDA technical problems with little supervision
  • Thorough knowledge of computer software, including but not limited to, the Microsoft Suite of products, graphics, databases, electronic mail, calendaring, document management systems and general office productivity tools in a Windows 2000/XP/Exchange environment
  • Excellent presentation, communication, interpersonal and customer service skills required and ability to interact effectively and professionally with all learning styles, personality types and levels of management, staff and a variety of external entities including clients and prospective clients of the firm
