2. Candidate Registration Process
Does Davidson Staffing charge a fee to job seekers?
No! Davidson Staffing's services are absolutely free to job seekers. Our fees are client-paid and a candidate pays nothing to be represented by us.
What is the process to register with Davidson Staffing?
Once an appointment has been set, a candidate must come into our office, fill out an application, interview directly with a recruiter, and take computer and written evaluations.
What tests do I have to take as a part of the registration process?
We will test you on the programs that you are most proficient in. We can test you on MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and WordPerfect. In addition, we have written tests to evaluate clerical skills such as math and filing. For legal candidates, we have tests designed to evaluate your knowledge of pleadings, calendaring and legal terminology.
Will Davidson Staffing provide me with my test scores?
Yes, we will happily make a copy of your test scores for you.
Does Davidson Staffing accept scores from other agencies?
Yes, we accept scores that are printed out from other agencies. We are unable to accept verbal scores because many of our clients request copies of scores when reviewing resumes.
How much time will the registration and interview process take?
Plan on being here from 1½ to 2 hours to complete the process.
How long will I have to wait before I get a job?
We cannot guarantee a specific time period because we often don't know when we will need someone with your specific skill set until a client calls to let us know of an opening. We will keep your file active and you will be considered "available" until you inform us otherwise, and we will call you with the positions that fit the criteria you are looking for and that you are qualified for.
How often do I need to call in my availability?
We recommend that you call in at least twice a week to let us know about your availability.
If I take a temporary assignment, will Davidson Staffing continue to look for long-term positions for me?
Yes, if your objective is a full-time job, then that is our goal for you. We can make arrangements for you to take extended lunches or leave work a bit early in order to get to interviews.
Does Davidson Staffing provide software tutorials?
Yes, we offer tutorials in our Irvine headquarters office. Tutorials are free of charge and a great way to brush up on existing skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook. You will need to make an appointment for an available computer so that you may work at your own pace.

If you are unable to make it to an assignment or interview or are running late, please contact Davidson Staffing immediately. Call your local office and leave a message if necessary. Orange County candidates should follow the instructions in the automated system to "page the on-call representative."
What if they ask me to do other duties outside the scope of the temp job I was hired to do?
Please call your Davidson Staffing representative to share any concerns that you have. If the additional duties you are asked to do are within the same guidelines as the original position (i.e., asking a file clerk to also send out some faxes), we suggest you proceed with the additional duties.
If I have a problem on the job, who do I talk to about it?
Please call your Davidson Staffing representative immediately. Any time you are on a temporary or temp-to-hire position, Davidson Staffing is considered your employer until the time that the company decides to hire you. How will I know when I have completed my temp-to-hire hours?
Your Davidson Staffing representative tracks your hours and will let the company know when you have completed your time.
What if a long-term position becomes available at the company I'm assigned to? Who do I contact if I am interested?
Always contact your Davidson Staffing representative. He or she will make sure that the client knows you are interested in the position.
When can the client hire me onto their payroll if that becomes an option?
The terms of agreement with regards to hiring temporary and temp-to-hire candidates may vary from client to client. Please consult your Davidson Staffing representative for information on your specific assignment.
Can you keep me working if I decide to look only at temporary work?
Davidson Staffing is in the business of providing temporary services. While we cannot guarantee work, we have proven to be very successful at keeping qualified candidates busy with a variety of short and long-term temporary assignments. 5. Timesheet Questions
I don't have a timesheet, what should I do?
As of September 24, 2007, Davidson Staffing has a new time entry procedure. Your timesheet entry can now be done online via Web Time. Click here for complete instructions on timesheet entry via Web Time.
If you are unable to utilize Web Time, you can download a manual PDF Timesheet here, or call your local office and we will fax or email you a manual timesheet. You will need to obtain your assignment number from your Davidson account manager.
When is my timesheet due?
Time entries or manual timesheets must be received on Monday no later than 6:00 p.m. for the previous workweek. All timesheets (both manual and Web Time generated) must be signed by you (the employee) and approved/signed by your immediate supervisor on your assignment, then faxed to 1-877-337-7286.
My timesheet is not signed by my supervisor and it is Monday afternoon.
What should I do?
Call your Davidson Staffing representative and furnish the reason you are unable to get it signed. Depending on the situation, Davidson Staffing will attempt to contact your immediate supervisor or the hiring manager on your assignment to get it signed for you. However, it is your primary responsibility as a Davidson Staffing employee to obtain a signature on your timesheet before turning it in to us. Therefore, Davidson Staffing does not guarantee the processing of your timesheet if you do not obtain the client's signature.
What happens if I don't get my timesheet in by 6:00 p.m. on Monday?
If we do not receive a timesheet by 6:00 p.m. on Monday, your paycheck will not be processed until the following Friday's pay period.
I need help filling out the Web Time timesheet. Now what?
Call our Service Desk at 1-800-793-7657, and select option 1 and then option 1 again..

9. W-4, I-9 and DE 4 Questions
How can I update W-4/I-9 information?
You can download a W-4 form here, or call our corporate office at 949-955-3114 and they will mail or fax you one. You need to turn in the original W-4 form. Faxed W-4 forms are NOT acceptable.
How long does it take for the updated W-4/I-9 information to be reflected on my pay check/stub?
The accounting department needs to receive the updated W-4 at least seven (07) days before the timesheet due date.
What documents are acceptable in verifying my proof of identity and employment eligibility for Form I-9?
You can view a list of acceptable I-9 Documentation here.
Can I select my withholding allowances for the State of California?
Yes. Employees may file a Form DE 4 to claim a different marital status and number of allowances than was claimed for federal withholding. If an employee does not file a DE 4, withholding must be based on the Federal W-4. If you rely on the Federal W-4 for your California withholding allowances, your California state personal income tax may be underwithheld, and you may owe money at the end of the year.
