Davidson Staffing Background Checks
Davidson alleviates your concerns about utilizing contingent staffing by initiating a complete background check prior to referring a temporary contractor on assignment.
Davidson's Background Check Process
When assigning an employee to a client's office, we institute up to three separate searches of the employee's background:
- First is a National Criminal File, a comprehensive search of multiple criminal record sources, including fugitive files and state and county criminal record repositories. This search can yield reports for short notice orders while the following more extensive searches (Social Security Trace and Onsite Courthouse Records Search) are pending.
- The Social Security Trace determines the current and recent addresses of applicants for the last 7 years. This report will help identify any locations the applicant has lived and not disclosed on their application or disclosure forms.
- The most comprehensive search is the Onsite Courthouse Records Search. This report covers the counties which the candidate's social security trace uncovered using a nationwide network of court researchers. This report outlines all felony and misdemeanor activity for the past 7 years. The Onsite Courthouse Records Search may take as long as 3-4 work days to finalize, which is why we complete the National Crime File report while these results are pending.
Davidson ensures background checks are conducted properly with the specific written authorization of the applicant following a disclosure regarding their rights. The results are sent to the Davidson management team for review and approval or denial of the referral.
An adverse finding from one of these searches does not automatically bar employment. Davidson will make a decision based upon EEOC guidelines. The most important factor is the relationship of the nature of the conviction to the specific position the applicant is seeking. EEOC guidelines also indicate that consideration should be given to factors such as the age of the individual when the conviction occurred, the length of time since the conviction, and whether the individual is rehabilitated.
